Darlene "Dolly" Faulkner

Darlene D. "Dolly" Faulkner, 85, of Aledo, formerly of New Boston, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at New Boston United Methodist Church with visitation 10 a.m. to services. Burial is at New Boston Cemetery. Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Mercer County Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 18, 1923, in Millersburg Township, Ill., the daughter of William A. and Susan M. Duesenberry Sedam. She married James Lyle Faulkner on Aug. 30, 1941, in Memphis, Mo. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 1986. Dolly was a farmwife. She also had worked at the Joy Grocery Store. In her younger days she enjoyed bowling. She was a member of Community Bible Fellowship, Aledo. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Faulkner, Joy; son-in-law, Gary (Barb) Dixon, Aledo; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shirley Dixon; son, Jim Faulkner; four sisters and five brothers.
