Clifford G. Koeplin, 77 of Sherrard, Illinois went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 20, 2009. Visitation is 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Funeral services are Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sherrard Cemetery with graveside military rites by Mercer County V.F.W. Post 1571.. Cliff was born May 18, 1931 in Alexandria, Minnesota, the son of George and Mabel Gullickson Koeplin. Cliff proudly served in the US Army Airborne during the Korean War. He married Pam Wadding on November 29, 1975 in Rock Island. He enjoyed truck driving until he retired. Cliff enjoyed many years of camping and boating with friends and family. He was the one everyone went to for advice on their cars. He was able to fix just about everything. Cliff will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Pam Koeplin; brother, Myron (Verna) Koeplin; children and spouses, Pam (Fred) Goettsch, Curt Koeplin, Charlene (Greg) Bryner, Greg (Rita) Koeplin, Ann (Joe) Slavens, Wesley, Colleen Koeplin, Cliff Koeplin, Jr., Kristy Koeplin, Krista Koeplin, Patricia (Allen) Davis and Cindy (Shane) Spengler and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cliff was proud of each one of his children and grandchildren and his face would light up when he talked about them. A special thank you to Sue on the cardiac stepdown unit at Trinity for her great care and compassion.
