C. Keith Lafferty

C. Keith Lafferty, 75, of Freeport, IL (Stephenson County) died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at home as wanted.  Funeral services are Monday, May 12 ^th at 2:00 p.m., with visitation 1 hour prior, at Dennison Funeral Home – Viola, Illinois.  Burial will be in Viola Cemetery.  Memorials may be left for the American Polio Foundation or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

C. Keith Lafferty was born January 26, 1939 in Aledo, Illinois the beloved son of Bert A. and A. Bernice Morrow Lafferty.  He married Mary R. Vipond Crawford in 1962, she passed away in 1970.  In 1987, he married Bonnie Lou Richards in Rock Island.  C. Keith was employed by Bert M. Lafferty Co. in Rock Island, serving as Office Manager/Accountant.  In 2007, he and Bonnie retired to Freeport.

He was a 50 year member of Viola Masonic Lodge #577 A.F. & A.M., member of Freeport Masonic Excelsior Lodge #97 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #679 in Freeport.  Keith enjoyed all sports, playing golf and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.  He always enjoyed time spent with family and friends.  He will be truly missed by all.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie L. Lafferty, Freeport, IL; sister, Patricia A. O’Meara, Erie, IL and brothers, J. Samuel (Twila “Posie”) Lafferty, Moline, IL and William G. Lafferty, New Windsor, IL; step-children, Teresa (Michael) Ransom, Lena, IL, Tania (Greg) Sayler, Walnut, IL, Susie (David) Child, Matherville, IL, Jill (Lester) Holcomb, Matherville, IL, Jerry Crawford, Matherville, IL, Diane (Allan) Mulkey, Chandler, AZ, Michael Velez, Mesa, AZ and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, loving parents, brother Bert and sister Irene Mae Helfrich.
