Melinda “Cindy” Klahn, 68, of Port Byron, Illinois died Thursday, February 23, 2023 at St. Francis in Peoria.

Cremation has been accorded, there are no services planned.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family. 

Melinda Lou “Cindy” was born December 23, 1954 in Kewanee, Illinois the daughter of Jerry and Linda Love Sturms.  She graduated from Aledo High School.  On August 20, 1972 she married Bob Davis in Aledo.  Together they had two daughters, the couple later divorced.  On July 17, 2004 she married Kenneth Klahn in Joslin, Illinois.  They were married until he passed on May 3, 2022.  Cindy had worked as a CNA at Mercer County Nursing Home.  She was a Dispatcher for many years, at Mercer County Sheriff Office and several years for Trinity Ambulance.  Cindy enjoyed crafting, bowling, and boating.

Survivors include her daughters:  Mindy King and Dixie (Brian) Wieskamp; step-daughters:  Tina (Jon) Snowbarger and Tracy (Chip) Blankenburg; grandchildren:  Gavin, Kellan, Ty, Mason, Talon, and Lily; step-grandchildren:  Mackenzie, Kyle, Ashlea, Zack, Macey, and Mackenzie; and siblings:  William (Dona) Sturms and Sherill (Bill) Rath.

She was preceded in death by her father:  Jerry Sturms; mother and step-father:  Linda & Robert Cantu; husband:  Kenny Klahn; and brother:  Jerry Sturms.
