Carol June Manning Vipond, 84, of Aledo, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2021.   Her husband, Jim, passed away May 14, 2020.

A private burial for Carol and Jim Vipond will be held at Mercer County Bethel Cemetery, rural Aledo.  Friends and family are invited to Beer Belly’s in Aledo on Tuesday, November 9th beginning at 12:00 p.m. (noon) to help celebrate Carol and Jim’s life.  Memorials may left for Mercer County V.F.W.  Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family.

Daughter to Clyde “Todd” Manning and Leah Taylor Manning, Carol was born September 17, 1937.  She graduated from Winola High School.  Carol married James Frederick Vipond in 1956.  She worked at Mercer County Hospital until her retirement in 1992.  Carol enjoyed dancing with Jim, baking, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include sons:  Brad (Sharon) Vipond, Brian Vipond and Bruce Vipond all of Aledo; grandchildren:  Jenifer (Jim) McIntyre, Todd (Barb) Vipond, Kristen (Shane Hansen) Vipond, Cody (Jessica) Vipond and Adam (Sara Monson) Vipond; great grandchildren:  Darrian (Natalie) McOlland, Anastasia Veloz, Evan Ott, Jemma Ott and Vada Vipond; and sister:  Jean Schnier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-father:  Joseph Park, and sisters:  Joyce Sturgeon and Donna Tworek.
