Carl Lee Anderson, 67, of rural Aledo died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at his home. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 8 at Preemption United Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Wright will officiate. Duane Braden is the organist and Mark Anderson is the vocalist. Burial is in Preemption Cemetery. Visitation was 3 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7 at Dennison funeral Home, Viola. Pallbearers are Roger Franck, Al Hampton, Bill Schutte, Mike Anderson Marty Anderson, Roger Grundstrom. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Juras, Wayne Franck, Jim Miller, Monte Adams, Tom Lingafelter and Butch Erickson. Memorials may be sent to Preemption United Methodist Church or the Mercer County Fair Association. He was born July 21, 1938 in Burgess to Earnest T. and Lorene E. (Fisher) Anderson. He married Sharon Brown Aug. 17, 1957 in Preemption. Carl graduated from Sherrard High School. He had worked at Borden's Dairy, Rock Island from 1956 - 1976. Then he worked at All Steel for a few years. He had also farmed his whole life while working until 1979 when he started farming full time. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, and was an avid Illinois basketball fan. He was an active on the Mercer County Fair Board, was a member of the Preemption United Methodist Church and Sherrard Volunteer Fire Department. He also served as the secretary/treasurer of the Preemption Cemetery Association. Carl is survived by his wife, Sharon Anderson, rural Aledo, two daughters Laurie (Ed) Lampo, Milan and Sherry Danner (Keith) Rixen, Moline; two sons, Brad (Sudie) Anderson, Austin, Texas and Brian (Shelly) Anderson, Freeman, S.D.; six grandchildren, Alyssa and Addie Anderson, Austin, Texas, Blake Lampo, Milan; Garrett, Rebecca and Grant Anderson, Freeman, S.D. Also surviving are his mother, Lorene Anderson, Viola; one sister, Elaine (Harry) Peterson, Viola and one brother, Gale (Judy) Anderson, Preemption. He was preceded in death by his father ans two brothers, Larry and Don.
