Brenda Leng, 64, Aledo, Illinois passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at her home.
Per her wishes, visitation will be held from 3-6pm on Tuesday, March 28th at Community Bible Fellowship in Aledo with a memorial service at 6pm. Following the service, the family invites all to stay for a time of food and shared memories. Private burial will be 10am Wednesday at Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be left for Community Bible Fellowship or Relay for Life.
Brenda was born Jan. 26, 1953 in Radford, VA the daughter of William and Elizabeth Nolen Richardson. She married Ray L. Leng Nov. 30, 1974 in Aledo. Brenda taught school for 32 yrs at Yorkwood-United. She was the recipient of the Area Teacher Education Award in the Burlington area. She was an innovator in educational technologies. Brenda was an active member of Community Bible Fellowship in Aledo where she was secretary and council member. She was also an active member of the Duchesses of York. She enjoyed watching her grandson’s activities, was an avid Virginia Tech fan and loved to travel. Brenda was also a devout Techie, always having the newest gadgets.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: Ray of Aledo; sons Chris (Amanda McClay) Leng of Aledo and Kyle (Jackie Bertelsen) Leng of Owens, MD; grandson Caden Leng; brother David Richardson of Cape Coral, FL; uncles Ted (Pat) Richardson of Roanoke, VA and Dave Britt of Blacksburg, VA; special cousin Charlotte of Roanoke, VA.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents.
