Barbara Leeser

Barbara Leeser, 65, of Aledo, formerly of Viola, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Ill. Private services will be Friday at Aledo Cemetery. There is no visitation. Dennison Funeral Home, Viola, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family. She was born Sept. 14, 1943, in Aledo, the daughter of George and Phyllis Kell Shaw. Barbara previously was co-owner of the Hide-A-Way Tap in Viola, and worked at Bains Tap, Woodhull, the Woodhull Plaza and Eagles Grocery in Galesburg. She loved her nieces and nephews. Barbara enjoyed her pond, fish, flowers and her cat. Survivors include her sister (and spouse), Jan (Spud) Young, Viola; niece, Tammy (Jim) Street; nephew, Brad (Sandra) King; great-nephews, Ross, Zach, Jake. She was preceded in death by her parents.
