Anna Trussell, 96, formerly of Aledo, died Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, Illinois. Mrs. Trussell was born November 26, 1909, to James and Lucy (Quigley) St. Ledger in Warren County, near Smithshire, IL. She attended Smithshire and Roseville grade schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1929. She married Robert Trussell February 1, 1934 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Raritan, IL. He died in August 1994. She and her husband farmed in Warren and Mercer counties during which time she was active in the Farm Bureau's Home Extension. They retired to Aledo, IL in 1975. Mrs. Trussell was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Aledo, Mercer Co. Farm Bureau, Mercer Co. Hospital Auxiliary, and Mercer Co. Senior Citizens. She did volunteer work for the church, Hospital Auxiliary and Senior Citizens. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her many friends in several card clubs. She is survived by: Helen St. Ledger of East Moline, a niece the Trussells reared; a sister, Helen Schreck of Monmouth; a brother-in-law, Lee Vail of Monmouth; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be Thursday, August 3 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 4 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Raritan, IL. Memorials may be left to St. Catherine's Church, Mercer County Hospital or the Mercer County Senior Center.
