Allen "Big Al" Fontenoy

Allen "Big Al" Fontenoy, 57, of New Windsor, Illinois died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011 at St. Francis, Peoria. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29 at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. The Rev. Mark Bedford, officiating. Pallbearers are Keith Bloomfield, Fred Vann, Frank Vann, Kenny Verplaetse, Rick Puckett, Dan Sloan and Al Snyder. Burial will be in Petrie Cemetery, New Windsor. Visitation is Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Memorials may be left for the family. Allen was born April 22, 1954 in Moline, Illinois a son of August and Clarcia Dilts Fontenoy. He graduated from Winola High School, Viola in 1972. On June 16, 1981 he married Jane Peterson Bowker in Aledo. Big Al worked out of the Rock Island Laborers Union #309. He loved his dogs and to hunt and fish. He enjoyed doing construction and building things and also gambling. He was a member of the NRA. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane Fontenoy, New Windsor, IL; step-daughter, Destiny (Jared) Hillis, Houston, TX; step-granddaughter, Haley Campbell; sisters, Patricia Withers, Ellisville, IL, Linda (Mark) Hintermeister, Bartlett, TX, and Elta (Troy) Casto, Moline, IL and brothers, David (Betty) Fontenoy, Coal Valley, IL, Ronald (Barbara) Fontenoy, New Windsor, IL, Richard Fontenoy, Salt Lake City, UT and Randy Fontenoy, Boden, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
