Albert Hensley, 79 of Keithsburg, Illinois died Tuesday, December 4, 2012.  Albert was saved by the grace of God at Lutheran Homes in Muscatine, Iowa.  He had lived in Keithsburg for many years, but at the time of his death, was living at Lutheran Homes.

Funeral services are Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation 1 hour prior, at First Christian Church, Keithsburg.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for Hospice Compassus.  Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg with graveside military rites by Mercer County V.F.W. Post 1571.  Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo is handling arrangements.

Albert was born July 11, 1933 in Flag Pond, Tennessee a son of John and Lila Mae Tipton Hensley.  Albert was an Army veteran, having entered at the age of 16.  He drove truck his whole life, from the time he was 17 until his stroke.  He was a hard worker and loved logging.  Mr. Hensley was a Mason.  Albert loved to work in the garden.  He also loved animals, fishing and hunting.  He dearly loved his friends and family.  In return, he was much loved by them and will be missed by all.

Survivors include his daughters Nancy Joe (Jim) Thompson, Erwin, TN, Tammy Bromell, Stuart, IA, Lesley Jones, Bayard, IA and Debra Rogers, Bayard, IA; sons Troy Hensley, IL, William Hensley, Winterset, IA and Kevin Abbadusky, New Boston, IL; sisters Catherine Castillo, San Jose, CA, Alice Kalbfleisch, Port Angeles, WA; several half-brothers and half-sisters in Flag Pond, TN, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews including very special cousin, Geraldine Hardin, Erwin, TN and special niece, Elizabeth Mae Hensley Jones, Jonesborough, TN and loyal and devoted friends Jeff and Deb Wakeland, Keithsburg, IL – Jeff was a son by choice.  A special thanks to Joe DeMarlie of DeMarlie Trucking, who has been Albert’s boss and friend for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
